Gratitude

"The more you practice the art of thankfulness, the more you have to be thankful for." - Norman Vincent Peale

Sometimes, we don't appreciate what we have until we have lost it. You think you have nothing to be grateful for? Thank God for breathe, health and peace of mind. I was in the hospital with a family member. Beside her was a guy who should still be in his teens. He had a cast around his head and one to support his spinal cord. He wanted to sit up straight because his buttocks were aching. His mum shouted at him several times to lie still because if anything should go wrong, the huge amount of money spent would be a waste.
The teenager had undergone two surgeries already and he was to remain in the bed for three weeks. That same night, someone died and the hospital was filled with all manner of wailings. The family member I went to check was to undergo surgery that same night due to an accident and she began to thank God she was a believer in Christ and also appreciated health in general.
Most times, we take good health for granted. You might think, "this is not the level I am meant to be". Can a dead or mad person make decisions to make progress in the works of their hands? Take a pause, reflect on the good things that have happened in every area of your life and be grateful while expecting better things.
Till the next post, keep learning.
