Perfectionism
"A pursuit for perfection is the most leading cause of procrastination in artists.” - Neeraj Agnihotri
I read a book titled, ’30 things Ma-Da never taught me’ by Seyi Babalola. In one of the chapters, he mentioned that his mum was a perfectionist. I had a conversation with him and told him his mum wasn’t alone because, I also behave like a perfectionist.
I always kept thinking and thinking about ideas I had (although, this still plagues me, but, it’s now minimal). Sometimes, I had headaches because of waiting for things to be perfect.
Later on, I realised that, imperfection could be necessary at times. This is because, without imperfections, there would not have been new models of phones. We could as well have one model of phone.
This is to say, you create a better thing out of loopholes. In other words, strive for excellence but, don’t waste time on perfection.
Till the next post, keep learning.
